Hitting Tunnel works are set to recommence soon as Melbourne metro's lockdown eases. This is a major building project for the Williamstown Baseball Club, which was established in 1908, and whose clubrooms were built in the 1970's. The project has been made possible by the support of the Hobson's Bay City Council and the Victorian State Government. The training facility will feature two hitting and pitching tunnels with a storage shed at one end. The walls will be black chain-mesh and the roof will be colorbond steel, allowing for lighting and therefore training in winter when poor light or inclement weather would otherwise prevent training. Internal string netting will also feature heavily. Building works are now scheduled to be completed by year end. Life Member Ray Baker can be contacted on 0419 750 916 with any questions relating to the project.
